Henry Louis Vivian Derozio (18 April 1809-26 December 1831) was a fiery Indian teacher and poet. In May 1826, at the age of 17, he was appointed a teacher in English Literature and History at the new Hindu College, which had been set up recently to meet the interest in English education among Indians. He interacted freely with students, well beyond the class hours and his zeal for interaction was legendary. He infused in his students the spirit of free expression, the yearning for knowledge and a passion for living up to their identity. His students came to be known as Derozians. Derozio contribution towards the upliftment of contemporary society is unforgettable.
Video production rules, secrets and tricks aren’t something we’re born with or a gift gained via effortless, often unconscious assimilation. We must be exposed to the video production environment in order to absorb and learn to get videography jobs. A formal education can be expensive, but in our institution videography learning with proper ambience (Audio-visual studio, Dubbing Studio).
Education is meant not only to nurture the excellence already in a gifted person but also to uplift the not-so- gifted, so that he / she is equipped to safeguard his / her interests in independent democratic India. The Constitution of India recognizes the SCs and STs as the two most backward groups needing special protection. Further, democracy demands the necessity to protect.
The motto of Derozio Memorial Community College is “Education for Employment through Skills Formation”. The educational activities are designed in line with the needs and demands of the local community. More specifically, the main objective of this College is “to offer job-oriented courses based on the perceived community demand for specific manpower”.
The college have very well equipped Wi-Fi enabled laboratories with more than 30 computers and ICT facilities like Projector with screen, scanner, colour printer etc. Facilities available for co curricular activities are – well ventilated lecture halls, IT lab for interactive sessions, audio – visual tools (LCD projector, LCD TVs, DVD player, public addresal systems etc) electronic devices (computer, laptops, photocopiers etc).
