“LEARNING – THE TREASURE WITHIN” is the moto of this department. Each and every teacher is the treasure of the department. Honours course was started from 2006, and throughout the 18 years, departments have many 1st class students. Among them two 1st class 1st (in the year 2013, & 2015) are assets of this department. At present the intake capacity in honours course of this department is 101, among them the average success rate in each year is more than 95%. 100% students are placed in their further study and job. The department is enriched by 6 experienced teachers with their research activities, separate departmental library with 267 books and 3 journals, and separate laboratory with computer and others equipment psychological instruments.
Throughout the journey, the department has not only achieved academic performance, but also extra-curricular success in every field. We have very active and enthusiastic students. They always engage themselves in various fields other than their syllabic world. With the help of the students and their parents, the department is actively organizing seminars, workshops, debates, cultural programs, wall magazine (SRIJONI), community development programme (ADULT EDUCATION & MANY STUDENTS SURVEY), collage excursions and so on in almost every year. We sincerely hope that the department will continue to provide its best in future through active participation of both the teachers and the students.This department is trying to reach its meta-cognition level.
Best education practices can be defined as the wide range of individual activities, policies and programmatic approach to achieving positive change in student attitudes on academic behavior. This encompasses the evidence supporting students outcomes: 'preparation', 'Assessment ' & 'Exemplary'.
Education is not only a book related subject, but also it’s a lifelong collection and application of knowledge in real situation. Therefore, for maintaining the curriculum, students’ benefit is the main commitment of the department. Our faculties are very dedicated to complete the syllabus in proper time. From the beginning of the session, syllabus, entire structures of curriculum and previous questions are uploaded in proper places and the learning materials are also provided time to time. Smart lectures are arranged in regular interval. Internal exam, project work, home assignments are completed within proper time limit.
Not only these book related works, but also various academic and other activities are the assets of the department. Field tour in various fabulous places in each year is not only the part of curriculum, but also refreshment of Teachers and Students, where there are many scopes of open interactions and knowledge exchange in friendly environment. Practical and laboratory works are duly covered by sound Teachers under strict discipline. Various cultural programme, arrange by the students are the part of the department as its co-curricular and extra- curricular activities. Thus the main moto of the department to develop the inner potentialities among the students.
