“LEARNING – THE TREASURE WITHIN” is the moto of this department. Each and every teacher is the treasure of the department. Honours course was started from 2006, and throughout the 10 years, two 1st class 1st students (in the year 2013, & 2015) are assets of this department. Besides this, almost every year, some students take 1st class scores in their final examination. At present the intake capacity in honours course of this department is 101, among them the average success rate in each year is more than 95%. 100% students are placed in their further study and job. The department is enriched by 7 experienced teachers with their research activities, separate departmental library with 180 books and journals, and separate laboratory with computer and others equipment.

Throughout the journey, the department has not only achieved academic performance, but also extra-curricular success in every field. We have very active and enthusiastic students. They always engage themselves in various fields other than their syllabic world. With the help of the students and their parents, the department is actively organizing seminars, workshops, debates, cultural programs, wall magazine (SRIJONI), community development programme (ADULT EDUCATION), collage excursions and so on in almost every year. We sincerely hope that the department will continue to provide its best in future through active participation of both the teachers and the students.
